Exam Board: AQA
All students will study biology, chemistry and physics either as part of the GCSE Combined Science Pathway or the GCSE Triple Science Pathway.
Those following the Combined Science route will work towards obtaining two grades (determined as an average of their attainment across biology, chemistry and physics) whereas those studying Triple Science are awarded three separate grades; one for each of the three subjects.
As part of the Year 9 options process, the Head of Year will help to determine which is the most suitable pathway for your child.
Please see individual Science Pathways below for more information on how assessment differs for Combined and Triple Science.
