Provision is delivered through a series of Mentor Time sessions from a specialist teacher.
Students will be challenged with questions about belief, values, meaning, purpose and truth, enabling them to develop their own attitudes towards religious issues. The students will also gain an appreciation of how spirituality, philosophy and ethics form the basis of our culture.
They will develop analytical and critical thinking skills, the ability to work with abstract ideas, leadership and research skills. Students will consider both religious and non-religious beliefs and attitudes to a range of issues in contemporary British society.
The Religious Education curriculum allows young people, growing up in a diverse society, to understand the views and opinions of people whose beliefs and values differ from their own.
It provides space for young people to reflect on their own worldview and develop their thoughts about questions of meaning and morality. Religious Education develops the students’ ability to express themselves, ready for the world of work and higher education.
