Free School Meals

Due to the operational issues that the Coronavirus is having on our ability to maintain operational kitchens, we are unfortunately having to make changes to how free schools meals are provided by the school.

For these reasons, from Monday 30 March free school meals and food hampers will no longer be provided at school. Food vouchers will be distributed as an alternative for families of all students who are currently in receipt of free school meals.

Please note that due to the change in process, no further registrations will be required on the school website in relation to free school meals.

Distribution of the food vouchers will commence in the coming days.

If you have any concerns regarding accessing these vouchers then please email the school office at office@garibaldischool.co.uk.

Thank you for your continued support during these challenging times.

Welcome to The Garibaldi School

Welcome to The Garibaldi School. Founded in the 1960s, we have gone from strength-to-strength, innovating education over the years for 11–18-year-olds. With our built-to-last mantra, we strive to offer an engaging educational experience.

Ofsted described the college as being ‘inclusive and caring’ providing students with quality support for those who need it. The best way to judge us is through our achievements.

“Welcome to The Garibaldi School website. I hope that this website provides you with all the help, information and guidance you may need.

Staff and students are at all times encouraged to ‘be the best they can be’. Expectations and aspirations are high for our entire school community. The school ethos of ‘PRIDE, RESPECT, ACHIEVE’ and the belief that ‘everyone can achieve’ resonates heavily through all of our interactions.

We work hard to ensure that students are well-rounded, good citizens that achieve the best they can in order to live successful lives after they leave us.

The Garibaldi School is judged to be a good school by Ofsted. I look forward to working in partnership with parents and wider stakeholders, to continue our journey to become an outstanding school and a beacon of the local community.”

James Aldred BA, QTS, NPQHHead Teacher

“The Garibaldi School is committed to providing our young people with the very best start in life. We believe that our young people should have high aspirations that ultimately results in them fulfilling their potential and going on to lead successful adult lives. We have developed a culture of caring for our young people, every child is truly seen as an individual and we work hard to remove barriers that they may have. This is embodied in our school aims ‘PRIDE, RESPECT, ACHIEVE’.

Ofsted recognise that Garibaldi is a good school. What we know is that Garibaldi is well on the way to becoming an amazing school and an institution that the whole community can be truly proud of.”

Ryan Hawley BSc (Hons), QTS, NPQHExecutive Head Teacher
